Perhaps the most popular types of outdoor furniture is made from teak. Now having said that, teak garden furniture can be used as much as inside furniture as it is out. I think one of the reasons that it is very popular is because it’s an extremely strong wood and will stand up to some fairly robust use and also extremes in weather.
The only slight downside is that when standing it outside then the wood is known to dry out and this can cause warping. Of course you can combat this by doing some fairly light maintenance on the teak furniture each season. You might be thinking that it would be easier to buy a cheaper plastic set, well of course it is but then you get what you pay for in quality. Perhaps the simplest thing you can do to help the wood maintain the oils that are natural in it, is to cover the furniture when not in use.
